What to Expect In Our Westmount Edmonton Practice

What Should You Expect on Your First Visit With Us?

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful practice member relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

Edmonton Chiropractic WellnessExamination Procedures

At Edmonton Chiropractic Wellness, our examinations procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation". The procedures we use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit at our clinic.

Our Examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes "Palpation". Palpation essentially is checking your spine by hand. With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxations problems. Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.

Our examination also includes a muscle reflex test sequence. This allows us to understand what is happening in the organs and systems of your body.

A nutritional evaluation is also included in our initial examination.

As we are trained in several healing procedures, our examination is made rather intensive, so that we might know what systems will be needed in your treatments.

A Typical Visit

For A typical visit, you usually register with the receptionist as you enter Edmonton Chiropractic Wellness.

Edmonton Chiropractic Wellness

It is our goal to get you to see the doctor as soon as possible. Dr. Swanston will check your body using primarily a muscle resistance test to find the condition of your body, and to determine what needs to be done.

After determining what you want or need, we then perform the treatment indicated. We will adjust your body so it shows that a positive change has occurred.

This entire visit typically take 10-30 minutes. Above all, there is no pain.

After your visit you will then return your file to the receptionist, who will accept your payment, and book your next appointment.

Thanks for visiting our site. We look forward to meeting with you in person and learning how chiropractic can fit into your health care goals. Give us a call or send us an email and we can arrange a time to explore your options!

Dr. Randy Asks some important questions of interest to Westmount Edmonton residents - Chiropractor Westmount Edmonton Dr. Randy Asks...

Why are some people allergic to pollen and others aren't?
It's not the pollen. Chiropractors know that if it were, everyone would be allergic to pollen, nuts and pet dander. But that's not the case. It's the person, not the pollen! If you live in Westmount Edmonton and your stress levels are high, then each year the grass, the trees or the weeds put your nervous system over the top. Many report that chiropractic care helps reduce the frequency and severity of their allergic response.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Westmount Edmonton chiropractic practice.
